Blue Latan PalmGeneral information: The Blue latan palm is a massive Florida palm that grows to a height of 40 feet. The Latania Loddigesii is very similar to the Red Latan palm and the Bismarck palm. It has a rough, up to 10 inches in diameter, gray, slightly swollen at the base trunk and costapalmate, stiff, wide, leathery, deeply divided into many narrow segments leaves. The petioles are 5 foot long, thornless and covered with a thick, whitish wax. Young plants have bluish-gray leaves. As they age often this beautiful color fades, but the petioles and veins always stay blue-grey-green.
