Lipstick Palm : Cyrtostachys Renda
General information: The Lipstick palm is a gorgeous clustering Florida palm that develops several ringed brilliantly red trunks. It is one of the most beautiful and colorful Florida palm trees. The Cyrtostachys Renda slowly reaches a height of 15-20 feet. It has feather-shaped, often vibrant red leaves with narrow and long leaflets that are composed in two rows and red petioles.

Habitat: This eye catching Florida palm tree is native to Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. It occurs in coastal swamps and forests in Southeastern Asia.
Maintenance: The Lipstick plants can be grown only in tropical regions. The Florida palms prefers rich, moist, loam soils. They can be grown in full sun to light shade. The palms like lots of water. They are very cold sensitive plants, can not tolerate temperatures below 55 F. They are also can not tolerate droughts and winds. The palms are resistant to major pests and diseases.
